Welcome to Game Dogma!

Although poker is my favorite game while playing in the casino, there are other games that I have been known to dabble in. Everyone knows that poker comes with the best odds when you have the perfect combination of luck and skill – but the other games within the casino are the true challenge. The other games in the casino are almost always based on luck, which makes things more fun.

Making Sensible Bets

Gambling problems in people have become ridiculous in the last few years. People have lost their cars and homes from being so far in debt with their gambling, and some people have even been murdered for not paying their debts. One of the best ways to avoid developing a gambling problem is to learn about making sensible bets.

For example, if one is at a poker table and they get a really good pre-flop hand, the next three cards that come out may not give them anything for a hand. This is why the sensible better will not bet a huge amount before seeing these next three cards. When they do come out, the player can then decide if betting any more will be beneficial or not.

Becoming a sensible better is all about being strong willed. It is important to think about all consequences before making all bets. When playing roulette, for example, just watching it can become addicting.

The player needs to think about the facts of this game before deciding to bet. What are the odds of winning? Being practical while betting and using common sense are two of the necessary aspects of betting, in order to minimize losing.

Diagnosing A Gambling Problem

Diagnosing A Gambling Problem

For many people, gambling is something done when on vacation. On a cruise, at a resort or upon visiting a casino of any kind, it’s all about chance. There is a minority of people, however, that become so engulfed in the games, winning and losing, that the gambling engulfs their lives. These people are those that have become addicted to the game.

Gambling addictions are more common than you think and are comparable to the statistics of people that are addicted to other vices. There are many signs however, that can giveaway if someone has a gambling problem, these include:

A few ways to tell if someone may have a gambling problem (and these are the obvious ones) are: the person loses entire paychecks gambling and they find that they are chasing losses, trying to recover the lost bets. Some less obvious tips are when someone constantly thinks about gambling, they lose time with work, friends or family in order to gamble, or at the very worst, participate in illegal activity in order to gamble more.

Most people with gambling problems will never admit they actually have a problem. They will lie about it to loved ones, and not even begin to notice when their lives start to crumble. Some people learn the hard way, and half to lose their families, cars and houses and fail to realize the implications that gambling has had on their life. Most often, they fail to realize it – until it is too late.

The Gambling Capital of the World

To many gamblers, one of their dreams is to one day visit the city of lights, also known as Las Vegas, Nevada. Every year, millions visit this travel destination to enjoy the luxurious life offered by the casinos. The famous Las Boulevard South, also known as “The Strip”, holds some of the biggest gambling facilities in the world. Some of the big casinos are almost like their own little city, which usually has boutiques, a hotel, restaurants and more.

Some places go as far as offering day-care services so parents can enjoy the facilities without their kids. All that plus each one has a huge gambling floor which have hundreds of slot machines, many blackjack, roulette and craps tables , poker rooms and more. One could literally live in one of these resorts without leaving.

The greatest part of it is this is a city that never sleeps. Whether it is gambling, food or shopping, most of these are open twenty-four hours a day. You can have access to fantastic casinos, entertainment – and any of the casino games that you enjoy twenty-four hours throughout your entire vacation.

Some of the resorts also have great live entertainment. The MGM Grand is famous for hosting boxing matches , the Bellagio has the Cirque Du Soleil® for some parts of the year just to name a few. Each hotel seems to have a signature and theme and this itself makes for an interesting tour of the city on your vacation to the gambling capitol of the world.

The Luck of the Draw in Gambling

Gambling has been a common practice around the world for thousands of years. There is no shortage of locations where one can gamble. Whether it’s a slot machine, a card game or sports betting, the amount of money wagered around the world is just ridiculous.

Imagine why would one take his or her hard earned money and associate it with a percentage to win more than what was invested? Most bets do not have very good odds, meaning that only luck can decide what kind of a payout, if any, is in store for the one who places the bet. All it comes down to is greed, people want more money, which is great but what if the losses exceed the winnings?

When a gambler places a bet and ends up winning more than what was invested in the wager, there is always a sense of instant victory. Depending on the type of gambling, these emotions can be short lived and the winnings can sometimes be lost as fast if not faster than they were won. Whether people do it for the thrill and excitement or for the money, the risks are a lot greater than the rewards when it comes to gambling.

There are certain people that feel they are luckier than others, as well as certain people that feel they are immune to bad cards, and bad luck – most often, they learn the hard way when it comes to luck, as through a certain time, they have pushed it too far – their luck that is.
